SILKWORM EGGS
(Bombyx Mori)
Ideal for educational purposes, RECORP Inc. sells silkworm eggs and provides comprehensive instructions that demonstrate how easy it is to grow and follow the lifecycle of the silk moth. If raised from eggs, this process can result in significant cost savings when compared to purchasing live food bait for studies.
Silkworm eggs hatch within 14 days once removed from refrigeration. The young silkworms are small enough to be fed to most new babies. If you are a breeder of most species you can feed silkworms to your new born right from birth through to adulthood.
Note: As with any species, do not feed an exclusive diet of only one insect. In the wild, all animals that feed on insects will eat 50 or more varieties, giving the animal a varied vitamin and mineral intake. As pet owners or breeders, we must approximate the feeding habits and the best way to do this is by feeding an exotic mix of bugs.
